Nominations were placed and votes have been tallied. The final results are in. The Knoxville Convention Center 2010 Leader of the Year award goes to… Kate Jackson!

kcc_kate-189x300Kate is an event manager here at the Center who joined our team in 2008. She is always ready to step up and help out whenever she can, putting in long hours with a smile. She has gained a great deal of respect from her coworkers in the short amount of time she has been with us, which is the first sign of a true leader.

Lynn Armstrong, senior catering sales manager, remarked, “Her positive outlook and friendly smile extend not only to clients but also to her coworkers. She is a shining example of what true customer service should be.”

KCC employees aren’t the only ones who have noticed Jackson’s upbeat demeanor: earlier this year she received a PAULY award from the Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corporation as Knoxville’s Friendliest Face. Her willingness to go above and beyond for our clients makes her a great ambassador for both the Convention Center and for Knoxville. We might be a little biased, but we can’t think of anyone else more deserving of both awards!

Kate’s commitment to outstanding customer service and her enthusiasm for a job well done continue to inspire us. We are all proud of Kate and the hard work she puts in to help the Center run smoothly, from small receptions to multi-day conventions for thousands of attendees.

Congratulations, Kate!
