Last night, we celebrated 10 years of the Knoxville Convention Center, and each of our amazing clients who made the Convention Center what it is today. At our annual holiday gathering, we put our event services to good use and made merry with our clients and special friends.

This year, our audio/video services provider, M&M Productions USA, and our in-house decorator and party rental provider, ACES, took center stage demonstrating some of the exciting ways they can help make an event special.

Drawing from one of my favorite holiday icons, our theme this year was the snow globe. I challenged our partners, M&M Founder and President Mike Brown and ACES Founder Terry Turner, to create the experience of being inside a snow globe, and they transformed our rotunda into a veritable winter wonderland.

The domed ceiling was the perfect backdrop for the light show of snowflakes that swirled around in the air. And visible wisps of icy cold air drifted across the snow-covered edges of the room adorned with frosty white holiday trees courtesy of the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital’s Fantasy of Trees event.

The chic furniture and sophisticated linens by ACES added a special elegance to the evening. When you stepped into the room, you actually felt like you were stepping into a holiday snow globe scene.

A lighted bar provided by ACES served delicious pear martinis with cranberry skewers for holiday flair. The Winter Martini was definitely a guest favorite, along with our wine selection and delectable hors d’oeuvres provided by our in-house food and beverage department, SAVOR.

M&M provided unique entertainment for the evening – a virtual band. The incredible video music show looked and sounded exactly like a live band, perfect for an intimate cocktail reception with friends. I kept reminding myself that the four-person band wasn’t actually in the room, but instead projected on four high-tech video panels.

M&M Productions USA has made a name for itself, producing major concerts and events world-wide. As our new audio/video partner, Mike Brown and company, are having a lot of fun bringing some of that production technology to Knoxville.

As I take a moment to thank our clients for 10 years of support, I also want to thank our talented event staff at the Convention Center. Through hard work and professionalism, they provide the highest level of service and make event planning smooth and easy for our clients

Last evening, I challenged our partners and staff to help us show our appreciation to our clients and demonstrate the creativity and expertise they bring to events at the center. They knocked it out of the park!

Thank you to our clients, friends, partners and staff for a wonderful evening of holly, jolly holiday fun at the Convention Center!
