dinosaur2_350-300x225After 65 million years, they’ve returned! Dinosaurs will soon roam the Knoxville Convention Center for the second year in a row. During last year’s hugely successful “Discover the Dinosaurs,” more than 25,000 children and adults traveled back in time to the Jurassic era. This year, the event promises even more prehistoric fun!

We’ve expanded the exhibit this year into our largest exhibit hall, which will be transformed into an antediluvian playground with 60 museum-quality animatronic dinosaurs. This exhibit, however, is definitely not a museum. “Discover the Dinosaurs” is an interactive, hands-on exhibit that allows families and children to get up-close and personal with the dinosaurs.  Children are encouraged to touch the huge reptiles and can even push buttons to control the dinosaurs’ movements and make them roar. Guests can pose in front of a life-size replica of a huge T-Rex head to understand the sheer size of these tremendous predators.

The dinosaurs are surrounded by scenery that reflects their natural habitat, including more than 1,000 plants and trees and more than 9,000 square feet of camouflage netting. Some other fun activities you can do while at the exhibit include dino face painting, mini golf, a scavenger hunt or even ride a T-Rex or Triceratops!

The exhibit is open Friday, March 22, from noon until 9 p.m.; Saturday, March 23, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday, March 24, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

This year, we are offering two pricing options, including a new all-inclusive ticket price. Exhibit-only tickets are $17 for adults age 13 and older; $12 for children ages 2-12; and $15 for seniors  age 65+ and includes access to the 60 museum-quality replicas, plus attractions such as a Dino Dig, Dino Theater, Dino Den play area, Dino Coloring and a scavenger hunt. Children 1 or younger are free. The all-inclusive ticket is $20 for children and adults and in addition to the exhibit activities, earns admission to Triceratops and T-Rex rides, inflatables and mini-golf.

Tickets are available at the door, but because of the huge demand for these tickets purchasing tickets online in advance at http://www.discoverthedinosaurs.com may expedite the entrance process.

We hope you will join us to travel back in time when dinosaurs roamed Knoxville, TN!
