Attractions include 50 massive LEGO models of world-famous landmarks.

KNOXVILLE – July 11, 2017 – The BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention will be held at Knoxville Convention Center for two days: August 26-27, 2017. Building on LEGO’s incredible ingenuity and popularity, all events and attractions will center around everyone’s favorite plastic building blocks. At events in other cities, the BrickUniverse Team has experienced thousands of LEGO fans showing up to enjoy live LEGO builds featuring thousands of LEGO bricks for attendees to build with as well as select galleries of amazing and life-sized LEGO models.

Jonathan Lopes, a San Diego-based professional LEGO artist, will showcase over 30 of his select LEGO displays which include an 8-foot high LEGO model of the Woolworth Building in New York City. Lopes will be in attendance both days to give attendees insight on his life as a professional LEGO artist and to share how they, too, can become LEGO master builders. Additionally, LEGO artist Rocco Buttliere will be visiting from Chicago.  Buttliere will bring over 50 massive LEGO models of famous international landmarks. Attendees will be able to see the largest skyscraper in the world, Burj Khalifa, the full Westminster Palace in London, and several other famous landmarks built entirely from LEGO bricks!

Both Lopes and Buttliere have been featured in exhibitions around the world.

Fan-built LEGO creations will be featured in The Fan Zone where some of the world’s best LEGO Fan builders include local Knoxville artists. These fan models includes massive and detailed LEGO cities, towns, trains, castles, and more.

Additional attractions include:

  • a LEGO Friends Building Area
