TinselandTreasure300The holidays come early at the Knoxville Convention Center. Before we take down the Halloween decoration and put up the candy, we’re already preparing for Santa Claus.

Our first holiday event, the Junior League of Knoxville’s 11th annual Tinsel and Treasure, is moving in to the center as we speak, and I’m already seeing the holly, tinsel and few other sparkly holiday decorations pass by my office door.

More than 85 holiday vendors will show off their wares in our exhibit hall this Friday through Sunday. It’s a great place to get a head start on your holiday shopping. I plan to pick up a hostess gift or two in preparation for the holiday party season.

Santa Claus must be starting his publicity tour to hype his Christmas Eve flight. He’ll be with us here in the center on Sunday to greet kids and hear their wish-lists. But I promise you, this won’t be the only time Santa Claus comes through our front door. The holidays are some of the busiest months of the year for our staff.

Fantasy-300x225Later this month on Nov. 21-25, we will host the 28th annual Fantasy of Trees to benefit the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. This year’s theme will be the “12 Days of Christmas,” and will celebrate the hospital’s 75th anniversary.

Each year, the Fantasy of Trees cover every inch of our space with more than 350 designer holiday items, including trees, accessories, mantels, door designs, table centerpieces and more.  With our 119,000-square-feet of versatile exhibit space and our excellent event planning services, it’s easy to turn our building into a virtual winter wonderland!

As we enter the month of December, we will be hosting scores of corporate and private holiday parties. Local companies like Pilot Flying J, Bush Brothers, Belleza Salon and Spa, Great Clips of Knoxville and more trust us to make their employee holiday parties sparkle. Our in-house decoration service ACES, A/V company M&M Productions and our award-winning chef and kitchen staff allow our guests to make every detail of their special event perfect without having to leave our facility.

Starting this weekend, we expect a total of more than 62,000 guests to join us here at the convention center for special holiday-themed events. The holidays are a magical time, and we’re ready to help you celebrate!
