ARVC-logoKnoxville is home to some of the most picturesque landscapes in the country. From rolling hills to breathtaking vistas, this city is full of beautiful outdoor opportunities. So, it comes as no surprise that Knoxville is a hub for outdoor industry events, and the Knoxville Convention Center enjoys hosting many of these events.

This week, we are thrilled to welcome the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo. More than 500 campground owners, RV enthusiasts and suppliers will participate in a week filled with seminars, networking events and more than 200 industry exhibitors. Needless to say, this event is sure to bring a crowd that loves nature as much as we do.

Providing services for associations and organizations dedicated to outdoor activities has become a specialty for the Convention Center. In fact, we have several more outdoor industry events rolling into town. The Grassroots Outdoor Alliancewill be visiting us later this month on Nov. 16 for its fall show and has already signed up to bring this event back to Knoxville for the next four years! The premier outdoor apparel event in the nation will feature exhibitions from major outdoor apparel and accessory brands like Mountain Hardwear and Patagonia.

In addition, we will proudly welcome the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) conference in March of 2014. Approximately 200 outdoor industry journalists, writers and communicators, whose audiences reach millions of outdoor consumers on a daily basis, will get the chance to experience what Knoxville has to offer in outdoor fun. Because of this conference, Knoxville and the state of Tennessee will have the opportunity to help POMA journalists produce story material that is expected to generate more than $1.5 million in ad equivalent editorial content. We love it when Knoxville gets national attention for its outdoor offerings!

That attention is well-deserved. A city full of character, greenway trails, rivers and the mountains are only a handful of the awesome attractions Knoxville has to offer. Our downtown is full of beautiful views and tremendous cultural offerings.

Knoxville’s urban wilderness, located a few miles south of our vibrant downtown and along the Tennessee River, offers biking trails, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, hiking trails and more. The Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center rents bikes, boats, fishing poles and other gear might to enjoy a day outdoors. The center also provides visitors with the maps and information they need to enjoy the urban forests around downtown.

Knoxville is the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and laid-back southern charm. Guests can enjoy a morning of hiking and an evening out on the town at unique restaurants and shops all in the same day. We find beauty in our city every single day, and we enjoy sharing our passion for East Tennessee with our visitors.
