GET TO KNOW REBECCA WILLIAMS

How long have you lived in Knoxville?

Most of my life. I attended school here after the first grade through graduating at the University of Tennessee.

What is your favorite activity to do in Knoxville?

I live five miles from downtown in a totally rural area, but can be in the middle of Market Square or the Old City in minutes. I love enjoying downtown and also being able to be on a river, lake, horseback riding or in the mountains in a short time. I love all the outdoor activities and the variety of local restaurants and shops, too.

What is your favorite location in Knoxville?

Being on the lake spring through fall, and downtown in the winter.

What do you think sets Knoxville apart as a great city to visit?

The people of course. Southern hospitality, laidback charm and a cool vibe. Being a university town adds a lot to Knoxville. We are small enough to navigate easily, but you can still find any type of food, great local purveyors, outdoor activities, great theaters and entertainment, music and more!  The rivers and lakes, and it is SO GREEN.

What is your favorite part about working at the Knoxville Convention Center?

I love selling Knoxville. We have a great team here and our goal is to make our guests have the best experience ever. We offer wonderful food and beverage, a facility that is outstanding, great service staff and again that Southern hospitality. Every day is different, and I learn something every day. I get to meet amazing people from all over the country and the world in my job. I love that!
