This is the time of year when the Knoxville Convention Center has the opportunity to roll out the welcome mat for some longtime shows and their faithful supporters. We appreciate our annual bookings and the nearly 90,000 people these popular shows bring to the Convention Center each year!

Nearly every weekend from January to April, our facility hosts thousands of visitors coming to popular public shows and events. We kicked off the season with the Log and Timber Home Show on Jan. 8-10, perfect for those planning a spring home remodel. Healthy Living is Tennessee’s largest expo focused on health, fitness nutrition and green living. We’ve hosted the event since 2005.

Pink BrideEarly in the year, brides who received engagement rings as holiday gifts are looking forward to kicking off wedding planning at two great bridal shows, The Pink Bride and The Knoxville News Sentinel’s Say Yes! Bridal and Beyond. Both of these shows begin hundreds of future brides to our facility.

DogwoodThe Dogwood Arts House & Garden Show and the Downtown Boat Show are wonderful harbingers that let us know spring is on the way. Slipped in between those events, the News Sentinel Auto Show provides a tantalizing escape for car enthusiasts and potential car buyers hoping to learn more about the latest offerings in the automotive world.

The 38th Annual Dogwood Arts House & Garden Show, held Feb. 12-14, included 10,000+ square feet of beautifully landscaped gardens as well as hundreds of retailers and manufacturers exhibiting products, offering services and giving advice on interior design, home improvement, gardening and more. The event drew approximately 31,500 visitors and raised important funding for the Dogwood Arts Festival.

Auto ShowThe 28th Annual News Sentinel Auto Show, held Feb. 26-28, provided the opportunity for nearly 20,000 visitors to check out more than 200 new cars, trucks, SUVs and crossovers, representing 23 vehicle brands – all under one roof and with no sales pressure. There were even some 2017 models not yet available at dealerships, and Toyota provided the opportunity for test drives outside our facility. As the first convention center in Tennessee to achieve Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification, we were happy to see that the Knoxville Electric Vehicle Association hosted a booth, where they showed off a Tesla electric car and a kit-built custom electric vehicle.

downtown boat showOn March 10-13, the Downtown Boat Show – one of the Southeast’s largest boat shows – sails in with hundreds of boats on display for purchase. With Knoxville’s eight area lakes, boating is a favorite recreational activity for many locals. We expect a crowd of 12,000 people to come out and see everything from paddle boards to power boats from dozens of top manufacturers. Last year, the Boat Show sold more than $5 million in boats and equipment during the show!

Additionally, we have the Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville Real Home Show on March 20 to get great ideas for your Spring home construction, renovation or decoration. Discover the Dinosaurs on April 2-3 is always a hit with local families. With animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar and educational opportunities about prehistoric life, the show has attracted more than 40,000 people over three years at the facility.
