Linda Wilson

Executive Administrative Assistant

Linda Wilson is responsible for assisting the general manager and the directors of Operations, Food & Beverage and Finance. She handles pertinent tasks for the general manager involving communications and scheduling and performs duties assigned by the directors, including compiling and executing contracts for the Food & Beverage department and distributing banquet event orders to staff members.

Wilson, who has more than 40 years of experience in administration, joined the Convention Center in March of 2002 as an administrative assistant and was promoted to her current position in 2012.

She is active in her church ministries and has a 2nd degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate. Wilson volunteers several days a week at the Karate Five Association in Knoxville to help a diversified group of young people in several different styles of karate, self-defense, discipline and character building. She also helps to train adults.

How long have you lived in Knoxville?

I am a native of Knox County and have lived here over 40 years.

What is your favorite activity to do in Knoxville?

Knoxville has many venues for activities for the family. I enjoy the beautiful lakes and recreational parks where one can enjoy the bright sunshine and just relax.  One of my favorite places is the rolling water fountains at World’s Fair Park – such a fun place to be with family and grandchildren.

What is your favorite location in Knoxville?

I have lived in Knoxville most of my life and it is a great place for many activities. I enjoy the World’s Fair Park.  It is very relaxing to walk and relax at the park. I live in a rural area of Knox County and have the best scenic views of House Mountain and the Smoky Mountains.

What do you think sets Knoxville apart as a great city to visit?

Knoxville is a great city, because the people here are friendly, and you hardly meet a stranger. It does represent Southern hospitality right to the core.

What is your favorite part about working at the Knoxville Convention Center?

One of reasons I like working at the Knoxville Convention Center is we all work as a team. It’s like a family. When any particular department needs help, we all pitch in and get the job done. We all work together to make sure our clients are pleased 100 percent.
