kcc_travelWe have a great story to tell at the Knoxville Convention Center, and we are telling it all across the country.

In the past month alone, our dedicated team has been traveling far and wide, from a horseshoe enthusiasts gathering in Iowa to a convention planners convention in Los Angeles, to bring new events to town. We are letting prospective event planners and convention organizers know what a shining example of Southern hospitality we have to offer here in Knoxville.

With the recent economic conditions, convention planners are turning away from flashy, destination convention sites toward more affordable, regional locations. We are committed to helping Knoxville become a top consideration in this trend.

We offer clients a turnkey event, with a full line of services. We have a wide assortment of room configurations to fit any organization’s needs, on-site audio/visual specialists, event decorators, and an on-site food and beverage company, SAVOR…Knoxville Catering. This complete line of services gives us a unique advantage over facilities of similar size.

In addition to our quality facility, we have a fantastic location which offers visitors a wide variety of entertainment. From our neighbor, The Knoxville Museum of Art, to Knoxville’s bustling Market Square and the nearby Great Smoky Mountains, we have something for everyone to do while in town.

We work closely with Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corporation to get great events in town, and do quite a bit of work on our own as well. And we have had some great success. Our recent visit to Iowa resulted in booking the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association of America 2012 World Tournament at the Convention Center. This will bring 1,500 participants to Knoxville, including the reigning Women’s Open Class World Champion Joan Elmore from Mount Juliet, Tenn. who is thrilled to be competing in her home state.

We know from national events like the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show and Destination Imagination, if we can bring groups to Knoxville once, they will come again and again. And while they are here, they contribute greatly to the economy of our community. That is why our staff continues to go those extra miles to bring business home to Knoxville.
